Wasn't able to post anything here yesterday. I was in a state of shock *lmao* My pc in the office was down, dunno what epidemic has striken my beloved machine. It was a hella Monday, seems like a virus has been injected in the system. The paste function was disabled, likewise for the system restore. I can't uninstall the Kaspersky Antivirus which at first i concluded was the culprit for the irregularity. My officemates told me it wouldn't log on the network last Sunday, took almost 10years before it would boot. The windows wouldn't appear in the task bar, would just float on the desktop. Other files won't open. Etc. Etc. Mayday.

I tried all what i could to bring back my pc into its own sanity. But i just couldn't. I'ts so frustrating on my part because i have been using it last friday and saturday in its very good working condition.

I then called the IT Department to have it fixed. The IT Personnel couldn't fix it either. The Drive C needs to be reformatted. Sigh. The first since it was brought to the engg dept. Sigh.
First time always hurts.

I did have a back up of some files that i deem important, personal and business files. But all of my psp movies shall be wiped out, as i don't have the luxury of time to transfer that 12gb films minutes before they pulled out the unit. Oh my mp4s. *weep*

It's A Sunday morning and i am all set for a whole day of relaxation here in the comfort of our home :)

I've been preoccupied the past weekends and i think it's time for me to rest my weary soma :D

I slept way too early on a Saturday night. I was yawning at eight, past nine my eyes are closed.
I've enough energy to spend for the rest of my Sunday. I am all set to wash my clothes, clean my room, cook the food, and have at least 4 hours of sleep in the afternoon. Hehe. If the universe would allow me to at least speak to someone i got used to during weekends, then i'd be sooooo thankful. Kinda missin' my WS mode lately. (WS=walang silbi)

Anyways, i got to get my lazy ass off to some chores so that I'd be able to rest earlier.

Ciao.

KAHAPON LAMANG

Yesterday is one of my best days.

I had an energy upsurge first thing in the morning as my heartbeat accelerated to full blast. Nope. Didn't have a heart attack.. just mere illusions maybe that my heart was being attacked again by a very, very good friend who has some kind of engagement here in the central home of my pumping veins and arteries. *lmao*

Well... very nice kick- off for the day :D Replenished happy cells that later divide into happier ones, and maybe, will continue mutating again into happier ones..weeeeeeee.. i am a happy individual.. and i can do most of the things through the happy thoughts that fuel me to relish a pleasing environment.weeeeeeeeee.. i love you all... **giggles**

Yesterday also, an abundance of knowledge has been bestowed on me. Mr. Segawa, my new Japanese boss, has taught me technical stuffs on statistical data analysis which i have long forgotten. I remember having a whale of a time whooping up the statistical data analysis back in my MBA managerial stat subject. Why oh why this time it seems that it has been wiped out of my cerebrum and no matter how i dig deeper to retrieve those functions, i can't seem to succeed. It was only when Mr. Segawa taught me snippets of methodology and functions that i was able to recuperate those tools that i needed to be armed at in order for me to rise to genius eloquence.. bwahahaha... nah..just kidding :) Thanks Mr. Segawa for the truckloads of info.

On my way home, I splurged on the supermarket for a bottle of Tostitos Salsa, Nutela spread, bread, nachos and muriatic acid.

Nyahahha. Muriatic Acid. It's Sunday tomorrow and i ought to make mother's haven gleaming. Heheheh. Tough week for her, i had a hard time heeding to her call every now and then. *lmao*

In conspectus, i had a great day yesterday and i firmly believe that with all the happy cells spontaneously mutating into happier ones, my every day on earth will even be as brighter as this one.

AUTOBIOGRAPHY IN FIVE SHORT CHAPTERS

AUTOBIOGRAPHY IN FIVE SHORT CHAPTERS
by Portia Nelson

I

I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk
I fall in.
I am lost ... I am helpless.
It isn't my fault.
It takes me forever to find a way out.

II

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
I can't believe I am in the same place
but, it isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.

III

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I still fall in ... it's a habit.
my eyes are open
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.

IV

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.

V

I walk down another street.

***********

I love this. Read it in Stephen Covey's Seven habits of Highly Effective Teens.

We tend to blame others for the things that have been happening to us. Sometimes, it takes muscle and outright carnage for us to be accountable to our own actions.

Falling again and again on the hole that has been known to us is committing mistakes more than twice.

"Shame on you if you fool me once, shame on me you fool me twice."

Learn from our mistakes and commit ourselves to formulating countermeasures in order for us not to execute the same boo-boo that we have done in the past.

Walk another street.

SAPUL

Kiriray kase e. Ang nakakatuwa pa nito, napakabuti nya. Mapagpasensya. Mapagpatawad. Paulit-ulit na sinaksak, tumitibok pa din. Sabi ko, magic to ah! Bakit kaya ganun.

May rison. May season. May pagkakataon.

from lai

pasalubong from lai this evening :)

talamats sister. beautiful!!

ZAMBALES TRIP

Instead of the usual bowling gimik for the engineering department's outing, we headed to Masinloc, Zambales for an unforgettable fun-filled and adventure-packed summer getaway.

Pareng Mike is the one responsible for this getaway. Last month, we planned this trip but wasn't able to push through because some persons are not available during the scheduled dates. Pareng Mike, is not an engineering staff by the way. And so do I. Pareng Mike handles the Finishing Dept., while i was just officially transferred to Cost Management Section under Manufacturing Dept three days ago. Pareng Mike owns a rest house in Zambales, and he is very willing enough to take us into a trip specially under the expense of the company's allocated budget for the departmental outing. And of course, my engineering boss included me in the department's budget, because additional headcount meant additional budget :D

So we left the company friday evening. Armed with digicams, psp, cellphones, foods and truckloads of clothes and other accessories, the Trooper was set to stroll us in a faraway place unknown to us.

The dinner we had at Goodtime Sunshine in Pampanga was able to pacify our grumbling stomachs as we headed north. As they were all watching the film Waterworld, i was seated comfortably watchin' the freakin' killings on the movie Rambo on my psp. Blood splattering everywhere. People dying every now and then. Bomb exploding. Houses burning. World crisis. Must have been real damn hard my emotions were kinda stirred up. When i heard Rambo saying "You live for nothing, or die for something"...... I've to pause the film and reflect on the things that i have done in my life. If you die fighting for something, then you die for a reason. Live and there is no rhyme or reason for it, then what have you left in your life? What have you lived for? Nil. It's better to fight and die for what you believe in, than to live and die for nothing...

*********

1230am. At the comfort of Mike's Rest house in Masinloc, Zambales, we were finally able to recharge our energy, to be able to conquer the best experience we could have come next day.

*********

We storm the island Magalawa come Saturday morning. Magalawa Island is about a quarter of an hour away from baranggay Masinloc by motorized boat. April meant real tremendously hot sun, i could feel it scorching my sunblock-coated skin as we sail off to the island. Good thing i always bring with me my orange umbrella (courtesy of Fukaya san), i was able to save some skin from being grilled.
The boatride exposed me to the wonders of the place, Islands here

and there, pristine waters for aquamarine life. I also spotted a Coal-fired thermal Powerplant nearby the market area of Masinloc, the third i have seen in my entire mechanical engineering life. (1. Calaca. 2. Sucat. 3. Masinloc. weeeeeee)

Magalawa Island has cream-white sands, real crushed corals with a slight mixture of common grey sand. Its clear waters is ideal for swimming. There is a small community on the island, about 150 families i guess. The east tip is where the good sandbar and swimming area is.

The sand is a bit silty at the west side of the island. Lots of mangrove there. Dead leaves from the sea grass flourish a few meters from the shore.

After bathin under the sun in this splendid island, we head back to the rest house and then proceeded to KIDZ Pool in Coto Masinloc, in the middle of a mining area operated by Benguet Corporation.-Masinloc Chromite Operation in Sitio Coto, Barangay Taltal, 27 kms away from the town proper.

It took us two hours of rough road trip before we reach this mountain valley over dirt roads and beautiful areas of trees and scrub interspersed with creeks and nearby waterfalls.

Kidz Pool offers a nature designed swimming pool overflowing with crystal- white cool spring water located neat the foot of a forest reserve. Enjoy also the view of the 20 feet Coto’s waterfalls that support the water needs. Explore different species of flora and fauna within the forest reserve.

I wasn't able to enjoy this waterfalls because back at the resthouse, i stepped over a bee in the restroom which left its sting on my left foot and caused me to be walking paralytically for a couple of hours. I just went on boating on the area, wanderin' through the shallow areas that are great for children to the diving board on the deep section which are great for advanced swimmers.

Im too lazy to finish this post. hays.

PANDAYAN 10

I'm missin' my Pandayan 10 UNI-TRES group. sigh.

I am very lucky to have facilitated a group of talented and joyful student leaders in the recent Pandayan 10.

And i'm kinda missin' them a lot.

************

I took my two-day vacation leave from work not to rest, but to work again, even double time, as a facilitator in this student leaders' conference. Having joined Pandayan 1 to Pandayan 3 as a participant representing different organizations back when i was in college, i am deeply-rooted to the ideals of honing up a horde of student leaders geared towards their ability to motivate, influence, inspire and enable others to contribute toward the effectiveness and success of the organizations of which they do belong. It was in Pandayan 4, when i was invited, trained and was given the chance to be a facilitator to the group where i once belonged. In Pandayan 5, i was able to attend the facilitator's training and simulation but wasn't able to get to the conference (which happened to be a camping activity at Kampo Arriba in Caleruega, and had an Extra-Challenge/Amazing Race sort of proceedings) because i had started my review for the board exam during the schedule dates.

"Pandayan" is a Filipino word for "foundry." The Letran-Calamba Office of the Student Affairs organizes annually a leadership and team building seminar which aims to train student leaders and equip them with necessary skills just like in a foundry that strengthens a metal. In its 10th year, Letran has also invited participants from different schools in the region.

************

Wokie. Back to my Uni-tres nostalgia.

The members named the group UNI-TRES: Unity for the Group 3. They are a bunch of buoyant, euphoric and elated individuals with a fire burning in their hearts that has been lit by their will to serve, their passion to lead, and their zeal to make a difference in each of their organizations. We were a small group of 18 members, but every single member was ready and cooperative enough to enable the group to rise to popularity and excellence. hehe.

Though i haven't had the luxury of knowing each of them deeper, (i haven't even memorized their names, just their faces and schools and their special "talents") i am very, very happy to have spent my days with them, and to have shared with them a few of my insights about what i have learned as a student leader.

The first day was indeed physically tiring for us. Jam-packed activities, structured learning experience galore, Arriba race to the maximum energy consumption. This is the getting-to-know stage for all the members of the group, and for me as well. I was surprised to see all of them clicked in an instant. I knew that this group will really leave a mark in each other's hearts as i have seen them sharing stories and smiles during the processing of each of our activity.

One of my favorite activities: Escape from war zone:
Aside from showcasing their unity in being at ease with each other, they have also showed their uncanny ability in cheating in this activity. hehe. (kala nyo nalimutan ko na ha!) I know i shouldn't have allowed them to push through the activity as they continue adjusting the knots in the straw webs to allow all the members to pass through it, but i see them all doin' it in the spirit of fun and enjoyment. Too bad for me i didn't punish them for their acts, because i was indeed amazed at how each of them celebrate the uniqueness of each other, how each of them fully entrusted their co-members as they allow themselves to be lifted in order for them to pass through the holes of the webs without touching it. This is where it all began. This is where their hearts started to beat as one: uno, dos, tres.... aaaaaaaaaa......UNITRES!

Come Arriba Race. Oh this is where I've seen all of them running to their hearts out. Solving the puzzles, the clues, scooting here and there and everywhere the colegio. hehehe. I wasn't fortunate enough to be with them, i tried to run after them after having the first clue, but to no avail, they were nowhere to be found. They must have dashed in full gears, beating each group, performing the tasks and consequences in each stations. I've seen one of my members stumble in her attempt to hurriedly reach a place where the puzzle could be solved by the group. I've seen one of them trip over a stone or something as she hurriedly race to a station to claim a clue. I've seen all them scorched under the burning heat of the sun and bathed in their own perspirations, and yet fueled by their eagerness to lead the race. I never saw any frustration in each of them. They were all driven by their desire to conquer the race to the best that they could, not individually, but as a united group beating as one. This is what unity is all about.

I haven't been with them come second day. Morning had plenary session with a very inspiring speaker, Prof. Connie Paloma-Labitan from De La Salle-College of St. Benilde discussing about Leaders as Learners. I went out in the afternoon to see one of the persons who inspired me to be better.. just like what his brother has been doin' to me, together with Ate Sheila and Lai and Jin. I was even happier that his wife knew me as well. Talk about real good friends and family. Thanks God.

Yeah. I missed my chance to experience what it was to do rappelling. There's always a second chance. I know.

Sunday morning, one of the group members informed me that the group received no award during the last night's ceremony. They haven't won any in the PandayanLympics (Palarong Pinoy) last Saturday afternoon, lost their candidates in the Mr and Mrs Pandayan, and was unsuccessful to defeat all the groups in the cheering competition. Though some of them had expressed tales of sour-graping, i was moved, lifted and inspired when one of them told me, "Mam, ok lang un kahit wala tayo nakuha kahit isang award, ang importante, masaya naman kami."

Yeah right. It is not always perfect. There's no such thing as a perfect system. Let not those failures consume all the energy that you have for serving the members of your organization. There may be times that we may have exerted all our best but failed to be recognized still. Fret not. At the end of the day, what matters most is how we have played our roles, the lessons we have learned and the things that we have to improve in order for us to conquer the titans.

Sunday had been memorable for us. Was kind of bein emotional, last day of the seminar. We had a meaningful time spendin' the mornin' in the Gawad Kalinga site. The group was even lucky enough to be assigned in painting a house. Though most of them had been stripped off with energy due to lack of sleep the night before, all of them had been enthusiastic in finishing the jobs assigned to them. They took turns in painting the walls, and exchanged stories that inspires each soul. There are no dull moments, only "kodak" moments! hehehe. Despite the heat and dusts and dirt, the house was painted. And not surprisingly, their energy was replenished while flashing smiles as i hit the shutter button. I knew then that their smiles reverberates from their hearts, as each of them lay their hands on these houses that would shelter the poor, and give them a whole new life to experience.

To my Uni-Tres group, i will surely miss all of you. Para sa inyong lahat 'to: CHEESEBURGER! CHEESEBURGER!

*****************
It was very worthwhile experience for me. It wasn't only the delegates who have learned a lot... but the facilitators as well. The three-day seminar has made me realize some snippets of life that i have failed to recognize most of the times. It brought me new friends that add to those who send me GMs, add to the list in my friendster and multiply network, and YM buddies..heheh..joke lang. Of course, i learned a lot about leadership, about team building and camaraderie, all of those i couldn't have learned and earned had i spent two days of my usual working days in the company. I was indeed thankful to have been invited again by the OSA, for believing that i have something to share and something to give, and for continuously believing that we, as products of Pandayan, have continuously lit the fires that they have tended, the skills that they have honed up, and the inspiration that they have instilled on us.

Blaise Pascal said, “Our achievements of today are but the sum total of our thoughts of yesterday. You are today where the thoughts of yesterday have brought you and you will be tomorrow where the thoughts of today take you.”

BIG BANG

im joining the power :D bwahahahha.

*Start Copy Here*

You do not have to be tagged to play along. This game is simple and so are the rules.

1. Copy from *Start Copy Here* through *End Copy Here*

2. Add your site(s) to the list. Just be sure to post the "Big Bang" at each site you add.

3. Tag or don’t tag, your choice, however, the more tags you create the longer the list will grow.

4. Let me know your blog’s name and url by leaving me a comment HERE. I will add you to the master list. (If you would like a scroll box code, leave me your email address and I will email it to you.) Scroll Box Example. (I decided not to use the box for the Big Bang for ease of copying.)
